This imaginative show talks about the importance of reconnecting with our Elders and how impactful the stories are that our Grandparents carry. FYOIE talks about the passing of information between the generations and the strength of language. This touching show portrays the connection between 4 generations in one family. This eventually leads to the creation of an Inner Elder… named Kookum Martha! That is when the laughter begins.

“Riotous laughter throughout the show and especially during Kookam’s stand-up act, was mirrored by pin-drop silence during the most piercing moments of the storytelling. The show is obviously a crowd-pleaser that doesn’t let the audience off the hook in terms of confronting the truth of the ongoing injustice faced by Indigenous communities.”
